Warranty Policy Details
The contractual partner is obliged to inspect the goods for any defects immediately after delivery. Complaints due to the goods clearly being in defective condition, or the delivery of goods obviously different to those ordered, must be reported by the buyer in writing or by email to WÜSTHOF without delay, at the latest within three business days of delivery. If the defect was not identifiable during an immediate inspection, the complaint must be made within one week of discovery of the defect.
If any obvious defects are not reported in good time and in the correct way, the warranty shall lapse in this context. Inspection and notification obligations under § 377 HGB (German Commercial Code) remain unaffected.
The warranty period is 2 years from delivery of the goods. However, this does not apply if the purchased item is normally used in construction [AG1] and has caused a defect. The statute of limitation in the case of a delivery claim according to §§ 445 a, 445 b BGB (German Civil Code), as well as for claims for damages due to injury to life, body or health, remain unaffected and continue to apply without restriction. Statutory warranty obligations and provisions apply.
In the event of a justified and timely complaint regarding any defects, WÜSTHOF reserves the right to initially provide recompense at its discretion, i.e. rectification of the defect or free replacement of the defective goods returned by the buyer with new contract-compliant goods (replacement delivery). Only after two unsuccessful attempts at recompense may the buyer choose to withdraw from the contract or demand a reduction in the purchase price.

Claims under this warranty are processed after WÜSTHOF has carried out an inspection. In most cases, this can be done based on photos submitted as part of the warranty application (here). If this is insufficient, we will ask you to send the product in question (even if you believe only part of it is defective) to the following address:

Please note:
The inspection and response process requires 3-4 weeks.
All knives must be securely wrapped in newspaper or bubble wrap and shipped in a sturdy cardboard box to ensure the safety of all involved in handling the parcel.
Do not send any personal items or any products not manufactured by WÜSTHOF that you wish to keep, such as blade guards, towels or other items used for packaging or protection. (Such items or products cannot be returned.)
The cost of shipping to WÜSTHOF any product under this warranty claim, and the tracking of such a shipment, is the customer’s responsibility. Make sure you keep the tracking number, as WÜSTHOF assumes no liability for losses during transit.
You are responsible for any loss or damage to such products in transit to WÜSTHOF. Shipping insurance is recommended.
