|---|---|---|
| Material | Premium forged steel engineered for lasting strength and corrosion resistance. | Often stamped or made from standard steel blends that may sacrifice durability or rust resistance. |
| Sharpness | 20% sharper than standard knives, thanks to laser-guided PEtec technology. | Factory-sharpened blades that start strong but dull faster and lack precision honing. |
| Craftsmanship | Hand-finished in Solingen, Germany with 200+ years of expertise and precision in every detail. | Mass-produced or partially outsourced craftsmanship that lacks the same heritage and consistency. |
| Corrosion Resistance | Exceptional rust resistance for a blade that stays beautiful for decades. | Prone to staining or rust if not carefully maintained—especially with frequent kitchen use. |
| Edge Retention | Stays sharper twice as long as ordinary knives, reducing the need to re-sharpen. | Edges wear faster over time, requiring more frequent sharpening and touch-ups. |
| Limited Lifetime Warranty | Limited lifetime warranty – a promise backed by generations of quality. | Lifetime coverage may exist, but with less transparency and variable service depending on the brand. |

Quality block!
"Quality block!"
Nice wood , I like
"Nice wood , I like being able to have steak knives in one block. Would buy again ."
Nice looking knife block
"I’ve already got two nice blocks from Wusthof. This block feels light in weight, which was surprising, compared to the other two I had from before, which are very heavy. The reason being this knife block, although it says walnut, it is actually walnut wood only on the outside. Inside the core of this block is another would probably pinewood. I wasn’t aware of that based on my prior blocks from the same brand. If I knew this, I would have not probably bought it."
Not great
"Good looking wood and seems solid but we received a block with poor stain on the corners and scratches in a few places. We returned and ordered another and it had similar issues."
"Quality!!"
"Nice block but had to return it due to my knives being too large. Could only fit half my steak knives"
I love it! It is
"I love it! It is exactly what I was looking for! It seems to be really well made."
Beautiful
"Replaced our old block with this one. Different wood and stain. Just beautiful. Will add, though, that you must be cautious when inserting knives and shears; if you poke the wood at all, it will leave a mark. Must be the stain color. This happens frequently when replacing the shears into their slot."
Q&A
- 1. What is the max length of the bread knife slot 2. what is the max length of steak knife blade slots
- The slot below the honing steel will accommodate a 10" bread knife. The steak knife slots are deep enough for a 5" steak knife. For further questions, please contact our Sales Support Team directly at info@wusthof.com
- Can you engrave the block? I’d love to have one with my last name.
- Hi Rob, Thank you for your interest in our knife block. Unfortunately, we don't offer engraving at this time, but we love that idea and will pass it along to our product development team! Thank you.
