Product Details
The easiest way to sharpen knives and to keep them sharp. This 2-stage pull-through, V-shaped Knife Sharpener with diamond rods and ceramic steels is particularly suitable for those who do not feel comfortable using Sharpening Steels or Whetstones. With this Sharpener, the knife is simply drawn through the guiding notches a few times - the notch with diamond rods is used for coarser sharpening (for blunt blades) while the ceramic notch is for fine sharpening (for coarsely sharpened or moderately-sharp blades) – and results are quickly achieved.

|---|---|---|
| Material | Premium forged steel engineered for lasting strength and corrosion resistance. | Often stamped or made from standard steel blends that may sacrifice durability or rust resistance. |
| Sharpness | 20% sharper than standard knives, thanks to laser-guided PEtec technology. | Factory-sharpened blades that start strong but dull faster and lack precision honing. |
| Craftsmanship | Hand-finished in Solingen, Germany with 200+ years of expertise and precision in every detail. | Mass-produced or partially outsourced craftsmanship that lacks the same heritage and consistency. |
| Corrosion Resistance | Exceptional rust resistance for a blade that stays beautiful for decades. | Prone to staining or rust if not carefully maintained—especially with frequent kitchen use. |
| Edge Retention | Stays sharper twice as long as ordinary knives, reducing the need to re-sharpen. | Edges wear faster over time, requiring more frequent sharpening and touch-ups. |
| Limited Lifetime Warranty | Limited lifetime warranty – a promise backed by generations of quality. | Lifetime coverage may exist, but with less transparency and variable service depending on the brand. |

- Can you use this for other knife series? We have the Gourmet Series.
- Yes! Our Ikon Hand-Held Knife Sharpener can be used for all WÜSTHOF standard knives, including the Gourmet series. These knives have a 14.5 angle which corresponds to the angle of this sharpener. To be precise with our Asian-style knives, such as a Santoku or Nakiri, you will want to use our Universal Sharpener which accommodates the 10-degree angle of our Asian-style knives.
- Is this a 15-degree shaped V?
- Our Ikon Hand-Held Knife Sharpener has a 14.5-degree angle, which is perfect for our standard blades.
- Can I sharpen my Ikon steak knife with this?
- Yes! The Ikon Hand-Held Knife Sharpener will sharpen your Ikon steak knives.
- I have had this sharpener for 10 years. I need to now replace the stones which can be removed out. How do we order ?
- Hi Peter! Please contact us at 1-800-289-9878 and our customer service team will be able to help you further.
- Can your serrated utility knife be sharpened?
- Good question! Yes, the serrated utility knife can be sharpened, however to fully sharpen it each serration would need to be hand sharpened which we would recommend be done by a professional sharpener. You can use a honing steel lightly along the edge of the serrated utility to help straighten out a bent serration or touch up the edge.
