|---|---|---|
| Material | Premium forged steel engineered for lasting strength and corrosion resistance. | Often stamped or made from standard steel blends that may sacrifice durability or rust resistance. |
| Sharpness | 20% sharper than standard knives, thanks to laser-guided PEtec technology. | Factory-sharpened blades that start strong but dull faster and lack precision honing. |
| Craftsmanship | Hand-finished in Solingen, Germany with 200+ years of expertise and precision in every detail. | Mass-produced or partially outsourced craftsmanship that lacks the same heritage and consistency. |
| Corrosion Resistance | Exceptional rust resistance for a blade that stays beautiful for decades. | Prone to staining or rust if not carefully maintained—especially with frequent kitchen use. |
| Edge Retention | Stays sharper twice as long as ordinary knives, reducing the need to re-sharpen. | Edges wear faster over time, requiring more frequent sharpening and touch-ups. |
| Limited Lifetime Warranty | Limited lifetime warranty – a promise backed by generations of quality. | Lifetime coverage may exist, but with less transparency and variable service depending on the brand. |

"It’s like cutting room temp butter with a hot knife!"
Amazing knife
"I’ve been struggling with all my bread knives for the last year I bought two different ones. Purchase this one on the chance that it would be a better fit. I have to say this one is a winner"

"Beautiful knife. Easy to handle"
A fine slicing knife in the Classic style
"I have a number a slicing knives that I used over the past 40 years and recently added the 10” Super Slicer to my collection of kitchen cutlery. With its broader blade width and very practical length it is a good companion to my hollow edged slicer and my 12” Salmon slicer. While I have often carved multiple hams and roasts for large groups in a single seating I have recently been carving from two to eight turkeys for large group settings. While my thin, hollow edged 10” slicer has been my favorite for decades, the 10” Super Slicer has become a very serviceable and significantly stiffer slicer for use in these culinary circumstances. It is a fine knife as are all of my Wüsthof knives."
Great Bread Knife
"Super slick. Slices through sourdough bread like butter."
Love it!
"The best knife I’ve ever had!"
Great
"Good company"
Q&A
- But how do you sharpen a serrated blade like this at home? Would I have to mail it in to be sharpened?
- You can use a honing steel to keep any burrs on the edge of your Super Slicer properly aligned. To actually sharpen any serrated or scalloped edge knife we do recommend using a professional sharpening service. They have the tools and expertise needed to properly sharpen each individual serration/scallop. For further information, please reach out directly to our Customer Support Team at info@wusthof.com
